Hello all, I’m new to purchasing precious metals online and APMEX has caught my attention. Before making a purchase, I’d love to hear from anyone who’s used them. Are they a trustworthy company, or should I be on the lookout for red flags? Any insights or personal experiences would be really helpful!
 
Absolutely, APMEX is solid! I’ve been buying gold and silver from them for years. They have a great selection and ship super fast. Never had an issue with fake metals or bad service. Just make sure you're ordering directly from their site and not some phishing link.
 
Seconding what NebulaFlare said. APMEX is legit, but I’d say they’re a little pricey compared to smaller dealers or local coin shops. If you’re just starting, though, their website’s super user-friendly. You won’t get lost. Just watch out for their premium on silver coins - it can add up.
 
APMEX is a dinosaur in the industry - trustworthy but not super modern. I tried to pay with crypto once, and the process was clunky. If you're paying with regular fiat, you'll be fine, but they need to catch up with the times for people like me.
 
I’ve only ordered historical coins from them, and they were great every time. One time, I got a coin graded higher than expected.

APMEX is fine for your first few buys, but OP, if you’re worried about getting scammed, why not check out their eBay store? Yes, APMEX sells on eBay too, and they have buyer protection through eBay if anything goes wrong. Win-win!
 
OP, you’re in good hands with APMEX. If you’re nervous, start small—maybe buy a single silver eagle or a 1/10 oz gold coin to test the waters. Also, sign up for their email deals. Sometimes they have sales that make their premiums more tolerable.
